Jordan: Lead technical specialists

Organization: Chemonics Country: Jordan Closing date: 08 Aug 2013 Chemonics seeks senior-level rule of law experts to serve as lead technical specialists on an anticipated USAID-funded project in Jordan. The ideal candidates have international experience in legal and/or judicial reform and a solid understanding of rule of law issues, particularly as they relate to Jordan. The lead technical specialists will provide oversight of a major component of the project, contribute to progress reports and deliverables, and supervise staff. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Qualifications: • Advanced degree in a relevant field; law degree preferred • Minimum 10 years of experience providing technical assistance on USAID or other donor-funded rule of law projects • Sectoral expertise in at least one of the following areas: -Judicial reform -Anticorruption -Public awareness -Civil society participation -Court administration and management -Legal frameworks within the justice sector -Legal education and judicial training -Local capacity development and human resource management -Justice sector institution-building -Access to justice, particularly for women • Direct programmatic experience in at least two of the technical areas listed above • Experience working collaboratively with a broad range of government officials, international donors, and private sector stakeholders • Knowledge of USAID and its operations and other donor-funded programs in developing countries preferred • Experience working in developing countries required; experience in Jordan or other countries in the region preferred • Excellent written and oral communications skills • Ability to work and travel in remote areas to oversee program implementation and provide technical expertise • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Arabic preferred Application Instructions: Send electronic submissions to JordanROLRecruit@chemonics.com by August 30, 2013.
